I sometimes go to "Izakaya" to drink alcohol and have dinner with my friends.
But when I was in America,there were no place like"Izakaya",so I went to my friend's apartment to drink and to have fun!
Izakatya is kind of bar but there are also delicious food and it's very common to go Izakaya to have dinner with fellow worker or friends in Japan.
We also drink alcohol at "Karaoke"or our house.
But "Izakaya" is the best place to drink and we can spend enjoynable time!!
How about America?
Is there any drinking customs?
One of my friend,he is American, was always having a party and drinking drinking....

I don't know if we have "customs" with drinking, but a lot of college students play a game called "beer pong." You play on teams. With glasses set up on a table, you try to throw a ball into one of the glasses. If you make it, the people on the other team have to take a drink.
I've never played beer pong, mostly because I'd probably fall asleep after the first drink.
What makes Izakaya such a fun place to drink? Is there something to do there or maybe good food?

Lynsey,Izakaya has good foods and it's like a status to go there to have fun. I actually don't know why there are so much fun.
